Artists that have influenced me, range from the sublime landscapes of John Martin to Constables clouds and loose pre-painting sketches. As well as the speed and quality of brushstrokes by John Singer Sargent. The ephemeral glow of Turners landscapes, which include local historical subject matter, achieving a beautiful softness and blending of edges with an overall unity. And Canaletto's light on intricate architecture. There are hundreds of paintings waiting to be created all around me! I love to paint my local area, Lancaster and the lakes but I also love to visit new and exciting places. So I am continually adding paintings to different series.
